Pre-order terms
This is a translation. If it differs from the French version, the French version prevails, except where the law of your country gives you more protection.
Short version: you pay $4.99 today, the app arrives in November 2026. Not out by November 15, 2026? Refunded. Change your mind before launch? Refunded. Doesn't work in your car? Refunded within 14 days of launch. The full terms below are what counts.
1. Seller
Arthur Verne, entrepreneur individuel (EI), Bâtiment B, 65 boulevard Côte Blatin, 63000 Clermont-Ferrand, France, France. SIRET 789 473 949 00020, RCS Clermont-Ferrand 789 473 949. VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the French General Tax Code. Contact: arthurverne@gmail.com.
2. Scope
These terms govern the pre-order, on afterfire.app, of the "Afterfire lifetime unlock" by a consumer. You accept them when you pay.
3. What you are pre-ordering
Afterfire is an app for iPhone and Android phones, still in development on the date of your pre-order. Through your car's speakers (CarPlay, Android Auto or Bluetooth), it plays voices synthesized live (classic engines, animals, machines, science fiction) that follow the car's acceleration as measured by the phone's sensors. The sound plays inside the cabin only.
The lifetime unlock gives you, for personal and non-commercial use, access to the 20 voices in version 1 of the app and their updates, with no subscription and nothing else to buy, on the phones you use, iPhone or Android. The app itself is a free download on the App Store and Google Play.
Requirements: an electric car that can play a phone's audio through CarPlay, Android Auto or Bluetooth, and a recent phone in a holder. The demo on this website uses the same sound engine as the app; some voices are simplified there.
4. Price
The price is the one shown on the button when you pay: $4.99, £4.99 or €4.99 depending on your region, all taxes included, paid once. US state sales tax, where due, is included in the displayed price.
In some countries where a local tax is due from the first sale (including the United Kingdom), the payment may be processed by Stripe's Managed Payments service: Link, a Stripe company, then acts as reseller and remits the local tax, already included in the price shown.
5. Ordering and payment
You order on a secure Stripe checkout page. Your card is charged immediately and you receive a receipt by email, which confirms your order. Keep that email address: it is what unlocks the app.
6. Delivery
Launch is planned for November 2026 (iPhone first, then Android), and no later than November 15, 2026. On launch day you receive an email with the download links. In the app, "I pre-ordered" plus the email address you paid with unlocks all 20 voices.
7. Refunds
- Before launch, you can cancel at any time, for any reason, with a simple email to arthurverne@gmail.com: full refund.
- If Afterfire is available on neither store on November 15, 2026, every pre-order is refunded in full, with nothing for you to do.
- If Afterfire is not available for your phone's system on that date, one email is enough: full refund.
- If the app does not work in your car, you can ask for a refund within 14 days of launch.
Refunds go back to your original payment method within 14 days of your request or of November 15, 2026.
8. Right of withdrawal (EU and UK consumers)
You have 14 days from your order to withdraw without giving a reason. Being able to cancel until launch (section 7) goes further than that. After launch, supply of the digital content begins when you unlock the app: by unlocking it, you ask for immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal, without losing the "doesn't work in your car" refund of section 7. To withdraw, a clear email is enough.
9. Legal guarantee
The seller is responsible for any lack of conformity of the app under the consumer law that applies to you. This is in addition to the commitments of section 7.
10. Use and safety
Afterfire is set up before you drive off, or by a passenger: the driver has nothing to touch while driving. Volume is capped and the app lets your music and navigation prompts through. You alone are responsible for how you drive and for obeying traffic laws. Afterfire only plays inside the cabin and does not replace or change your vehicle's external acoustic alert system. Do not use Afterfire if the sound stops you from hearing what is happening around you.
11. Licence
The unlock is personal and non-transferable. Copying, decompiling, reselling or redistributing the app or its sounds is prohibited.
12. Liability
Except for gross negligence or personal injury, and subject to the rights the law gives you, the seller's liability is limited to the price paid. The seller is not responsible for app stores, CarPlay, Android Auto or your car's audio settings.
13. Personal data
See the privacy policy.
14. Complaints
Write to arthurverne@gmail.com. We answer within 7 days. EU consumers may also use a consumer mediator (details on the French version of these terms).
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence, and may bring proceedings in the courts the law allows you to.
